Andrey began to work in the domain sphere in 2001 at the Russian Research Institute for the Development of Public Networks (RIPN). Later held the position of Director of Public and Government Relations of the RU-CENTER domain registrar.

In 2009-2014 he participated in the international Geographic Domains Applicant Group at ICANN. In 2013, on behalf of the .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА TLDs, he held a meeting of the Group of Applicants for Geographic Domains at the Moscow City Hall.

In 2015, Andrey Vorobyov held the position of Director of Communications at ANO "Internet Development Institute". Since October 2015 he is the Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU /.РФ.
