Center took part in the Summer School on Internet Governance

In the first week of August, the Center's staff delivered lectures as a part of the Summer School on Internet Governance, which runs from July 19 to August 23, 2021, in an online format. It was organized by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ. in cooperation with the Faculty of International Relations of St. Petersburg State University.

Anna Abramova, Head of the Department of Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence (AI) of the ADV Group, MGIMO, a member of the Center's team of experts, delivered a lecture "Why are we talking about ethics in the use of artificial intelligence?" and told the participants of the Summer School about the international cooperation in the field of AI, touched upon ethical issues in the development of AI and highlighted approaches in designing ethical codes. 

Andrey Ignatiev, Head of the analytical department of the Center, presented an overview of world practices in the field of regulation of transnational digital platforms at the lecture “Global digital platforms. Search for a reasonable balance in regulation”, focusing on urgent problems typical for most national jurisdictions.

Summer School is a part of the global movement of Schools on Internet Governance (SIG). The main task of the School is to immerse students in current issues of Internet governance and digital cooperation at the global and local level, to develop skills for future participation in international organizations, conferences and dialogues on these topics. For the first time, the Summer School on Internet Governance was held in Russia in 2020.

Center actively cooperates with the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ. in a number of areas, including in the framework of various youth projects such as the Youth Internet Governance Forum.
