The Global IT Cooperation Center of Competence took part for the first time as a new member of the ITU Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D). Director of the Center Vadim Glushchenko spoke about the organization's work plans in the sector and expressed readiness to actively cooperate in the process of preparing for the participation of our country in the upcoming World Telecommunication Development Conference in 2022 in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia). “We made sure that the analytical and expert potential of the Center is in demand both in the International Telecommunication Union and in our regional organization in the field of communications - RCC. We are confident that joint work in the ITU-D with other participants from Russia and the RCC countries will allow to achieve good results and present them at the upcoming WTDC-2022,” Vadim Glushchenko commented on the results of the meeting.
The Center joined ITU-D in early August, becoming the third Russian organization in this sector. The core mission of the Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D) is to harness the power of ICTs for a sustainable economic future, digital skills development and equitable access to digital technologies. ITU-D is aimed at fostering an enabling environment for telecommunication and ICT development, enhancing confidence and security in the use of telecommunication and ICTs, enhancing environmental protection through telecommunication and ICTs.
