State Duma announced looking into the function for deleting personal data via the Public Services Portal

“This feature is currently being worked on and will be added soon. It’s a very handy one, since we don’t always remember who and when we shared our personal data with,” said Anton Gorelkin, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, in an interview with Parliamentskaya Gazeta (Parliament Newspaper).

In December 2022, the State Duma adopted a law on a unified biometrics system that prohibits the compulsory collection of biometric data. The law also prohibits discrimination against those who have refused to submit their biometrics.

One can revoke their consent for processing of biometric data via the Public Services Portal and refuse to submit such data by filing an application at a multifunctional center for public services.
