On May 18, 2023 the Director of the Center for Global IT Cooperation Vadim Glushchenko took part in the XIV International Economic Forum "RUSSIA - ISLAMIC WORLD: KAZANFORUM".

In the section organized by the Permanent Representation of the Russian Federation to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) he gave a report on "Cooperation with the OIC countries in the IT sector". In his speech, he outlined promising areas of cooperation with OIC countries, in particular, coordination of positions within UN projects, joint research work, preparation of analytical materials, inter-university relations, joint educational programs, training of specialists, as well as creating conditions for the development of mutually beneficial business in the field of ICT.    

On the OIC side, Ahmad Kawesa Sengendo, OIC Deputy Secretary General for Economic Cooperation, and Yousef Hassan Khalawi, Secretary General of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, participated in the discussion. The guests were welcomed by Ramazan Abdulatipov, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the OIC. 

"The Islamic world is one of the most promising areas for cooperation with Russia in the IT sector. Over 250 thousand students from OIC member countries study in Russia, the average age in the region is 19 years. Russian technical education, which is rightly considered one of the best in the world, can open the way not only to the creation of mutually beneficial projects in the IT sphere for Russia and the OIC, but also to the education of future digital leaders for the Islamic world with a warm attitude to our country and ready to cooperate closely with Russia in science and ICT development," said Vadim Gluschenko. 

The Center for Global IT Cooperation plans to further develop contacts with representatives of the Islamic world at various levels and to help establish partnerships with OIC working bodies and institutions.
