On December 10, at the Internet Governance Forum (IGF), the session “All we need is YOUth: connecting young people and ICT” was held, where the newly created institute of the Youth Digital Ombudsman (YDO) in Russia was presented.
On December 9, during the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in Poland, there was held a main session on the best practices of digital space regulation. The track on the developed regulatory measures is one of the crucial ones in IGF-2021.
“We all realize that despite many negative consequences, the pandemic has become a driver of digital transformation around the world. It has changed the attitude towards technology and influenced the development of the digital economy. However, the further growth and development of IT solutions and the digital economy would be impossible without global decision synergy, and, most importantly, without the development of an international legal framework,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, in his opening remarks at the plenary session of the UN Forum on Governance the Internet, dedicated to investment in the development of the digital environment and transnational digital cooperation.
Today, on the sidelines of the UN Internet Governance Forum, a youth day took place, which included a number of activities for both young participants of the Forum and qualified experts.
The XVI UN Internet Governance Forum has begun in Katowice (Poland). The main theme and motto of the event is “Internet United” - an open, free Internet that unites all users into a single community. An Internet that respects the rights of every user.
According to the First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office, it is important to create the right conditions for children, give them maximum opportunities for development, and also protect them from risks on the Internet.
On November 25, 2021, the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) hosted the Forum on Protecting the Rights of Children and Youth in the Digital Environment “Internet for Youth: Opportunities and Risks”, organized with the help of the Center for Global IT-Cooperation and sponsored by Rosmolodezh.
