On December 10, the webinar “Tropical Export Route: Digital Expansion into Vietnam” was held by the Center for Global IT Cooperation together with the Federal State Autonomous Institution Digital Industrial Technologies. The event continued the series of country-focused webinars on Global South markets and brought together companies considering Southeast Asia as a direction for scaling.
Experts presented an overview of Vietnam’s digital economy — one of the fastest-growing in the region. Participants learned about the structure of the local IT market, localization requirements, specifics of working with government bodies, and opportunities in key niches: from cybersecurity and cloud services to fintech, video analytics, and smart-city solutions. The practical part of the webinar featured cases of Russian companies already established in Vietnam: 1C, VisionLabs, and TrueConf.
According to Alexey Sazhinov, Head of the Project Office of the Digital Attaché Service at FSAI Digital Industrial Technologies, such webinars enable companies to understand market requirements, business culture specifics, and market-entry scenarios in advance, helping them build a realistic export strategy.
Vietnam’s Digital Attaché Artyom Korenevsky noted that the country remains one of the fastest-growing digital economies in the region, with consistently strong demand for IT solutions. He emphasized that effective work in the market requires local adaptation, personal presence, and a deep understanding of local specifics — a point well illustrated by the experience of Russian companies
During the webinar, TrueConf’s Marketing Director Lev Yakupov highlighted the need for a systematic approach: well-thought-out positioning, work with a partner network, and technological adaptation of the product are, in his view, key success factors in a highly competitive market.
From the perspective of 1C, presented by Alexander Evchenko, sustainable presence is built through localization, cooperation with reliable integrators, and constant enhancement of services to meet local business needs.
VisionLabs representative Nikolay Shiryaev emphasized that video-analytics projects are in high demand due to involvement in major infrastructure initiatives, where collaboration with local integrators and flexibility in adapting technologies are critical.
Deputy Director of the Center Vasily Zudin stressed the importance of the practical format and the role of webinars in export training:
“Our webinar series with the Center for Industrial Technologies and the Digital Attaché project office has become a kind of signature element of our export track. We intentionally hold live sessions and fill them with real cases from companies already established abroad: this experience helps new exporters navigate faster and move forward with greater confidence.
Today we focused on the Vietnamese market — one of the most promising digital economies in Southeast Asia, open to cooperation and actively interested in Russian solutions. This is also confirmed by the cases presented during the webinar. In 2026, the Center will continue to develop its educational track, helping businesses adapt products for export and build sustainable models of international presence.”
Participants were also presented with an analytical overview of the transformation of IT export to Vietnam, prepared by the Center for Global IT Cooperation specifically for the event.
