The mission involved eight Russian IT companies representing diverse sectors, from streaming platforms to software developers. Participants engaged in negotiations with key representatives of Egypt’s public and private sectors. Notable interactions included presentations to the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and discussions with the Egypt Healthcare Authority, focusing on collaboration in medical technologies and telecommunications.
A special highlight was the delegation's visit to Smart Village, a hub for advanced technologies located on the outskirts of Cairo. Meetings with organizations such as the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), the Information Technology Institute (ITI), the IT Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), Telecom Egypt, and the Applied Innovation Center (AIC) allowed for detailed discussions on introducing Russian technologies in education, infrastructure, and innovation.
The mission's final day featured networking with Egyptian companies and discussions of joint projects with major market players, such as ALKAN CIT. These meetings laid the groundwork for future partnerships and preliminary agreements.
Participation in the Digital Mission enabled Russian companies not only to showcase their cutting-edge solutions but also to gain valuable experience working with Middle Eastern partners and plan long-term collaboration with Egypt.
Egypt’s ongoing digitalization makes it a promising market for IT solutions, a point underscored by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi during his visit to Cairo ICT 2024. He emphasized the critical role of technology in sustainable development.
"The Middle East and North Africa remain key regions for exporting Russian IT solutions. Events like digital missions help domestic companies better understand local market specifics and adapt their products to client needs," said Vasily Zudin, Deputy Director of the Center for Global IT Cooperation.
The Digital Mission to Egypt is part of the Center's strategic program to enhance international cooperation. The Center will continue to organize similar missions, offering Russian companies new opportunities for global market expansion.
