Editorial Board of the Center for Global IT Cooperation

Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, made a video address to the participants of the forum and the award of the Alliance for the Protection of Children in the Digital Environment.

"President Vladimir Putin has defined digital transformation as a national development goal until 2030. Today, our country is facing large-scale technological challenges and tasks, and their successful fulfilment is impossible without active digitalization of various spheres. Its driver is, first of all, you, the younger generation. We believe that it is you who are behind the digital future of the country," the Deputy Prime Minister said. He also added that the Forum is one of the key platforms for open dialogue between the state, business, science and youth. And today, the young generation has every opportunity to gain knowledge and skills in this technological and breakthrough field. According to Dmitry Chernyshenko, more than half of Russian children want to develop in this field, and the number of IT students is growing every year.

This year, more than 1,000 people from 89 regions of Russia applied for the "For Safe Digital Childhood" Award. The awards were presented in three main categories: "Safety Lessons on the Web" for teachers, "Adults and Children on the Internet" for parents, "Best Youth Project" for schoolchildren from 14 to 18 years old, as well as in the special nomination - "Family Digital Safety". The projects of several participants were recognized with special prizes from the Movement of the First, the "Sferum" Information and Communication Educational Service and the "Znanie" Russian Society.

The award ceremony was attended by the Forum's guests of honor: Tatyana Matveeva, Head of the Russian President's Department for the Development of Information and Communication Technologies and Communications Infrastructure, Elizaveta Belyakova, Chair of the Alliance for the Protection of Children in the Digital Environment, Kirill Khvil, Deputy Director General of the "Znanie" Russian Society, Elena Kunina, Deputy Head of the Media Communications Department of the Movement of the First, member of the Public Council of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, Yulia Khanzhina, Deputy Director of the "Young Professionals" Area of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to Promote New Projects, Ruben Akopov, Head of the "Sferum" Area.

"In a world of rapidly evolving technology, it's important to remain human. The Alliance's primary goal is to protect children and teach them to think critically. We are sincerely grateful to each of the Alliance founders, the members of our award jury and all of today's guests for their attention to digital challenges. It is important, that the participants' projects continue to evolve after the award. I would like to mention Evgenia Arnakova, a teacher from the city of Sevastopol. After winning last year, she continued to work on her educational project. We would be glad to have Eugenia as the Alliance's first teacher ambassador. The community that we create and develop together is a safe digital environment," Elizaveta Belyakova, Chair of the Alliance for the Protection of Children in the Digital Environment, said.

The award winners received award steles, commemorative diplomas, valuable prizes, and certificates for mentoring courses from VK, Gazprom-Media Holding and other founding companies of the Alliance for the Protection of Children in the Digital Environment.

The Alliance Awards were presented at the IV Youth RIGF-2024, organized by the Center for Global IT Cooperation. The main topic of the Youth RIGF 2024 was the interaction between digital technologies and human beings. The work of the Forum was organized in four sessions: "Internet of Our Bodies: the Future of Technology", "Cyberbrainy: Education in the Era of AI", "New Personnel Will Be Key: Automation and Robotization", "It Is Difficult to Be Human: Society of the Digital Age". Master classes on modern Russian digital solutions and platforms were also held for the participants. In addition, there were fan zones with informative activities, through which the "digital" quest took place. Undergraduate and graduate students, postgraduates, recent graduates and anyone interested in the IT field were able to attend the event for free and interact with leading experts.
