Vadim Glushchenko, Director of the Centre, spoke in the "The Role of Youth in International Projects: Digital World and Diplomacy" open dialogue. He spoke about the youth sector of the Centre and the involvement of the younger generation in decision-making in the field of Internet development at the international level.
He paid special attention to the Centre's flagship event, the Youth Internet Governance Forum (Youth RIGF), which is part of the UN initiative and has been held annually since 2021.
"It is clear that young people are now playing a key role in the development of the Internet. Therefore, the main objective of our forum is, of course, to connect the creativity and innovativeness of the new generation with IT experts and businesses. To build a bridge so that young people's opinions are heard. Moreover, we are giving talented young people the opportunity to prove themselves on the international stage, to form a new system of digital diplomacy. For example, we have started to organize selections for full-time participation in the UN Global Internet Governance Forum, which is held every year in different countries of the world. The young generation is a direct driver of digital transformation, and their representation in international projects, where, among other things, decisions on the future of the Internet are made, contributes to the development of the global digital environment, building trust between countries and building a more sustainable and equitable world," he concluded.
At the end of his speech, the Director invited all participants to be part of the upcoming Youth RIGF, which will take place already in April 2024.
The V Digital Diplomacy Forum is taking place in Moscow from November 29 to December 2. It is organized by the "Youth World" Samara Regional Public Organization together with the Government of the Samara Region with the financial support of the Gorchakov Foundation.
