The Digital Mission was timed to coincide with the GITEX GLOBAL exhibition in Dubai, which is rightly regarded as one of the most important technology events in the world. For more than four decades, it has been the premier platform for collaboration between government agencies, IT companies, developers, investors, and digital enthusiasts. This year's show featured more than 6,500 exhibitors, 1,800 startups, 1,200 investors, and the governments of more than 180 countries, marking an all-time high in international participation.
More than 20 local IT companies and organizations from various sectors participated in the business mission. As part of the events, they held a series of meetings with key UAE organizations, including the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, and the in5 Tech startup accelerator. Prospects of cooperation in artificial intelligence and digitalization were discussed, as well as joint Russian-Emirati projects in the field of smart cities. Among other things, the participants attended the opening of the stands of the partners of the Business Program - the Moscow City Government, MEC and REC.
A separate day in the program was dedicated to the Expand NorthStar exhibition, which is one of the parts of GITEX. Expand NorthStar is the world's largest event for startups and investors, which helps accelerate the development of startups and opens new opportunities to attract investment and close deals.
On the last day of the digital mission, a roundtable discussion was held at the Dubai branch of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics on the specifics of AI development and regulation, where Russian experts shared their experience and discussed with the Arab side the ethical aspects of technology application. Vadim Glushchenko, Director of the Center for Global IT Cooperation, moderated the roundtable.
Representatives of the Center emphasized the importance of such missions for strengthening international cooperation. "Our main task was to provide Russian companies with an opportunity not only to present their innovative solutions and achievements to international players, but also to establish strategically important contacts with potential customers and partners from the United Arab Emirates. This cooperation will become the basis for the formation of a new level of interaction in the international IT market, which in turn will open up prospects for the successful introduction of domestic digital solutions in other countries," said Vasily Zudin, Deputy Director of the Center.
He added that the participating companies were able to gain a deeper understanding of the needs and expectations of the international audience in order to adapt their offerings to the requirements of the global market. Thus, the Digital Mission helped companies not only to present their own solutions and conclude pre-contract agreements, but also to strengthen the position of Russian companies abroad and inspire participants to further innovation and business expansion in foreign markets.
The Center for Global IT Cooperation conducts digital missions for innovative domestic companies to various countries around the world on a regular basis. The next mission is scheduled to take place in Egypt in November.
