The head of the analytical department of the Center for Global IT Cooperation took part in the IV International Symposium "Theology in the Modern Scientific and Educational Space". Artificial Intelligence and Social Values: Pro & Contra", organized on October 17, 2024. Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia with the support of the Commission for the Development of Theology, Religious and Spiritual and Moral Education under the Council for Cooperation with Religious Associations under the President of the Russian Federation and the Association of Educational Organizations "Scientific and Educational Theological Association" (SETA).

During the symposium, experts from the scientific and cultural community, various organizations and institutions of the educational system, as well as representatives of various religious congregations discussed the following issues: the limits of artificial intelligence (AI) in the scientific and educational space; AI in scientific research: ethical and legal limits; the responsibility of higher education professionals in the use of AI; and the quality of AI-based services.

In his report "Development of international instruments in the field of AI: ethical regulators", Andrey Ignatiev presented a general panorama of the development of ethical approaches to the use and regulation of AI systems. Special attention was paid to the issues of implementation of the Recommendation on the Ethical Aspects of Artificial Intelligence, prepared by UNESCO in 2021. In particular, the mechanisms for assessing countries using tools such as the Readiness Assessment Methodology (RAM) and the Ethical Impact Assessment (EIA) were discussed. The importance of in-depth scientific research on the ethics of AI at the national level was emphasized in order to better promote our views and positions to UNESCO and other international organizations.
