On June 6, during the Global Digital Forum in Nizhny Novgorod, a signing ceremony was held for a Memorandum of Understanding between the Center for Global IT Cooperation and representatives of international organizations from the Global South. The document marks a significant milestone in strengthening partnerships in the field of digital technologies, paving the way for joint projects, knowledge exchange, and deeper international dialogue.
The memorandum was signed by Vadim Glushchenko, Deputy Director of the Center for Global IT Cooperation, and representatives of organizations from Africa and Asia — including Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Morocco, Uganda, Burundi, Bangladesh, and the Philippines. Among the partners are nonprofit foundations, research and educational institutions, youth movements, and digital platform representatives.
The parties agreed to collaborate on ICT initiatives, support scientific and analytical projects, build professional IT communities, and organize joint events such as conferences, forums, and roundtable discussions. The cooperation will be guided by principles of equality, openness, and mutual respect.
Vadim Glushchenko, Director of the Center, emphasized:
“These memoranda lay the foundation for building strong ties between the IT ecosystems of Russia and the Global South. We are joining forces, sharing expertise and resources to shape a digital future that is inclusive, secure, and accessible to all. It is these steps that help foster trust and make international cooperation practical, effective, and equitable.”
The signing of the documents symbolizes the beginning of a new phase of cooperation — focused on real-world digital solutions, support for local initiatives, and the promotion of shared approaches in the global digital agenda.
