Prospects of Russia's participation in the global IT cooperation was discussed at the RANS Conference
Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development Natalia Babekina, RANS President Arkady Kremer, Chairman of the RANS Executive Committee Alexander Ivanyuk, First Deputy Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .ru / .рф (CCTLD) Vladimir Gorzhaltsan, ICANN Stakeholder Engagement Manager in Eastern Europe and Central Asia region Mikhail Anisimov and Director General of the Center for Global IT Cooperation (CGITC) Vadim Glushchenko took part in the discussion. The session was moderated by the CCTLD director Andrey Vorobyov.

The panelists raised such issues, as the role of cooperation in the global IT industry and possible ways to promote Russia's approaches in this area, and also exchanged views on the Russian expert community’s potential areas of work on the international level.

“The state recognizes the importance of Russia's participation in global IT cooperation, which is reflected in many Russian national projects. In addition, several Russian experts put it quite correctly, that international IT cooperation between the companies in the form of strategic alliances could contribute to increasing the country's international competitiveness. The potential for developing such cooperation is enhanced by Russia’s participation in regional integration associations (such as the EAEU, BRICS, and the SCO). In particular, the development of integration in Eurasia helps to use the experience of creating and developing international strategic alliances,” said Vadim Glushchenko during his presentation.

He stressed that it is necessary to intensify the participation of the Russian experts in the relevant international events and organizations, especially those related to the development of the international IT standards and formation of a system for ensuring international information security under the auspices of the UN. This is one of the key areas for the CGITC, and we are ready to fully support the expert community’s initiatives and act as a platform for developing joint projects.
