ChatGPT is a chatbot developed by Open AI company. It was launched on November 30, 2022. The bot can, among other things, write code, create and translate texts and uses the context of the dialogue to answer users' questions. In early February 2023, Reuters, citing the Swiss holding UBS reported that the audience of active ChatGPT users within 2 months reached 100 million people. By this the application has set a historical record for the growth of visitors. Official access to the service is limited in several countries, such as China, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Iran, North Korea and Venezuela.
According to the agency's interlocutors, the Chinese government will insist on the safe and controlled use of AI technology, which the PRC considers a strategic industry. China's leaders will continue to monitor the development of AI technology to better understand the ethical issues that may arise from its use, Bloomberg quotes Wang Zhigang, China's Science and Technology Minister.
Mr Zhigang's words follow media reports that China’s leaders have banned local apps and websites from sending their users to ChatGPT because of concerns over content and data security.
