On June 5 in Nizhny Novgorod, the International Youth School on Internet Safety took place as part of the Global Digital Forum — a large-scale educational initiative that brought together young leaders, experts, and representatives of tech companies from across Russia. The central theme was the challenges of the digital age and the role of youth in shaping a safe and resilient digital future.
The program featured interactive formats such as “equal-dialogue” sessions, open discussions, idea labs, and project pitch sessions. Special focus was placed on building youth IT communities, fostering international cooperation in digital technology, combating disinformation, and advancing media literacy.
The Center for Global IT Cooperation served as a key partner of the event. Yury Lindre, Lead Analyst at the Center, hosted an open discussion on international digital collaboration, highlighting current regulatory mechanisms and emphasizing the importance of youth engagement in the digital space. Alina Ustinova, Senior Project Manager, and Alim Khapov, Project Manager at the Center, acted as mentors in the youth labs, helping participants develop ideas and shape their digital initiatives.
“Participating in educational initiatives like this one allows us not only to share our expertise but also to build strong partnerships with young professionals. I’m convinced that such events help shape a new generation of international IT leaders,” said Yury Lindre.
The school concluded with project presentations and the awarding of the Youth Digital Ambassador Prize. Participants praised the event’s unique atmosphere of mutual learning, openness, and professional growth.
