The creation of a register of foreign NPOs is a logical step, according to IT expert

Any activity which has as a goal the violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Russia is unacceptable. This was stated by Vadim Glushchenko, Director of the Center for Global IT-Cooperation.

"Especially when we are talking about a foreign organization that does not even have structural subdivisions in Russia. But in each specific case, it is necessary to assess the possible benefits of cooperation with non-profit organizations, for example in the scientific field, on a case-by-case basis," he emphasized.

According to him, there are organizations that are really far from politics, which are not tainted by calls for destructive activities against our country.

"The interaction of Russian companies with such foreign nonprofit organizations can be beneficial for the development of science and technology in our country. Therefore, the initiative of the IT industry to create a register of foreign NPOs that carry out destructive activities against the interests of Russia and its citizens seems logical. It is important for us to be able to trust the partners with whom we are working," he concluded.

Recall, on July 31, the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted amendments to the Federal Law "On Non-Profit Organizations", and on August 04 to the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offenses and the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Revised Article 30.1. of the Federal Law "On Non-Profit Organizations" allows Russians to participate in the activities of a foreign non-profit non-governmental organization only from the date of registration of its structural subdivision in Russia or inclusion of information in the relevant register of information on a branch or representative office of a foreign NPO.

Earlier, Gazeta.Ru reported that the Russian IT industry has sent to the Ministry of Finance and the State Duma its proposals for correction of the norm on the prohibition for legal entities and individuals to participate in the activities of foreign non-profit organizations (NPOs) not represented on the territory of the Russian Federation.
