A separate interactive masterclass will be run by the Youth Digital Ombudsman (YDO) team, which was formed as a result of the first Youth Internet Governance Forum. It will focus on threats to young people's safety and security in the digital space.
This year's Forum will also see the launch of the Alliance for the Protection of Children in the Digital Environment (Alliance) Safe Digital Childhood Award competition. The award is given in three categories: "Internet Safety Lessons" for teachers, "Adults and Children Online" for parents and "Best Youth Project" for children aged 14-18. The awards ceremony will take place at the Forum on the 12th of May 2023. Based on the results of the competition, adults will receive valuable prizes and children will have the unique opportunity to complete an internship at one of the Alliance companies.
The Centre and the YDO's joint Digitalisation for Good Award will also be launched at the Forum. The aim of the award is to find and reward active young people who are committed to improving young people's digital literacy and protecting their rights online.
